What Can I Do?
The Shen Yun community is working on efforts to advocate for Shen Yun! In the face of a global, illicit campaign by Beijing to sabotage and silence Shen Yun, it is vital that everyone in the community step forward to advocate for Shen Yun. Below are some of the important ways in which you can do so...
(1) Advocate Online
With widespread reports of the CCP paying influencers and baiting media, there is a growing chorus of critics online that is pushing false narratives and gross distortions about Shen Yun. We need to roll up our sleeves and get in there, but do so rationally and with dignity.
Below is a check list of what you can do on each of the major social media platforms. And below that are key posts you can like and share to increase the reach of good quality, truthful content about Shen Yun.

(1) Contacting Your Legislators to Advocate for Shen Yun
First, we sincerely thank you for taking a few minutes to contact your congresspeople. This small but important act can help ensure Shen Yun’s safety and security.

On behalf of our artists and staff, again, we thank you.
I’m calling in support of the performing arts company known as Shen Yun. It’s the classical Chinese dance group, based on New York, that performs around the world. I really appreciate what they do, but am concerned by reports that they are being harassed and threatened, by people who are likely agents of the Chinese Communist Party. They’ve received numerous bomb threats, death threats, threats of rape, and so on, right here in the United States, and seem to be the targets of a Beijing-driven misinformation campaign as well. This is really disturbing, since they’re an American company that’s doing a lot of good. I believe there needs to be an investigation to root out any unregistered foreign agents acting in our country and attacking Shen Yun, or any other bad actors who are harassing them. So my request is that your office raise this with the Homeland Security Committee and call for an investigation. Could I ask you to please make a note of this request on my behalf? (You’ll likely need to provide your home address as one of their constituents.) Thank you so much for your support.

Subject: Constituent Request Regarding China, Shen Yun Dear Senator/Representative_________________, I’m writing out of concern for the safety and security of the performing arts company known as Shen Yun Performing Arts. I have seen their performance and really enjoyed it! Ever since they were established, though, they have been targets of the Chinese Communist Party and, over the past year, threats against them—here in the United States—have escalated exponentially. One example is the recent bomb threat at the Kennedy Center in Washington, which you can read about here. I fear that there may be a significant number of unregistered foreign agents at work here in the U.S. on behalf of Beijing, striving to undermine these courageous and talented artists who are doing really good work. I am writing to respectfully request an investigation into who is harassing Shen Yun. Could your office please raise this matter with the Homeland Security Committee? This may help ensure that not only Shen Yun, but also other American businesses that might become targets of foreign regimes, are protected. Thank you so much for your support.
